The Event: Video

This video is a recording of the Taxidermy & Tipples event, which took place over live video stream at 14:30, Thursday 4th August, 2022.

As the event was live, the video and sound quality is reduced in places. We are trying to solve this from our end, but for a better video experience, you are able to improve it by selecting: playback settings – quality – 1080p. This is only available if you click ‘Watch on YouTube’ below.

Should you want to take part in the wine tasting, the wine that we used are:

  • Reserve Rolle Grenache, Le Grand Duc, Vin de France
  • Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Rose, Le Grand Duc, Vin de France
  • Merlot Del Veneto, Rocca Estate

These were all supplied to us by Cavavin in Newcastle

If you would like to take notes, the wine tasting document can be downloaded below

The time stamps for watching the video are as follows:

  • Welcome talk and introduction: 6.22
  • Professor Annie Tinley’s talk on taxidermy: 13:06
  • Ruth’s introduction to taxidermy object handling: 20.20
  • In person object handling: 34.20

As the entire room was moving and talking, the sound quality is massively reduced and unclear in this section. We are working on refining this. The Q&A after provides an opportunity for the live stream to hear answers to questions asked, and ask questions themselves!

  • Taxidermy Q&A: 45.25
  • Wine tasting: 1.06.10
  • My research on wine: 1:38.01
  • The event ended at: 1.44 (video time)

We left the live stream on in case the online audience had any questions – there was 1! – the event lasted for another 15 minutes in person, as people were taking pictures and talking about what they had just learnt.

Thank you for watching and I hope that you enjoyed it!
