Ontology Evaluation Invitation

My name is Aish Blfgeh, I am a PhD student at Newcastle University. I am conducting an experiment for testing and evaluating an ontology as a part of my study. My main objective is to test how easy to read/explore the ontology in two different formats and which format is preferable and useful from the users’ perspective. Therefore, I am inviting you to participate in a remote testing session which should last for a maximum of 50 minutes.

I would appreciate your taking part in this ongoing evaluation phase of my research as your participation and feedback are valuable to my research.

Please note that any information you provide in this test will be handled confidentially. Your data will be anonymous; no names will be revealed or linked to any results. For full details, please see here.

If you agree to take part in the experiment, please read and complete the following consent form:

https://forms.ncl.ac.uk/view.php?id=2107906

I recommend using a PC in order to explore multiple documents in a more sophisticated way.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Aisha

  1. For me as a programmer the second test was better than the first where the definition of classes and its subclasses were clear and understandable. Also the definition of the table (row columns) is clear.
My opinion is that the first part was done before by OWL ontologies using Protg ontology editor in some researches. But the second part is a new trend for ontologies developers and more flexible than the first part to maintain and construct any ontology using Excel sheet as a source of information for the ontology values.

    • Thank you very much Ebtehal for your comments. They are really valuable and I will benefit from them indeed.
Highly appreciate your thoughts and help.
