About b4054942

I am currently on a Wellcome Trust PhD studentship in the Institute of Neuroscience looking at novel non-invasive brain imaging and analysis techniques applied to neurodegenerative diseases, in particular the neurodegeneration caused by mitochondrial disease. I have degrees in physics (MPhys) and psychology (BSc) and a masters in neuroscience (MRes). Prior to the beginning of my PhD I spent 14 years working for the MoD with my speciality being optical design and novel use of imaging techniques to address complex and difficult imaging problems.

Research Interests

My main research interest is in the use of novel non-invasive brain imaging techniques in the study of neurodegeneration. I am primarily interested in finding methods to both qualify and quantify the changes that can be seen in the brain using MRI scanning protocols that are not currently part of a standard clinical assessment protocol.
